Setup Guide for Wunderkind AI

We’ve outlined step-by-step instructions for how to start using our AI tool to help you generate engaging On-Demand Text campaign content, as well as best practices and prompts you can utilize to get the most out of the tool. Building a Campaign with Wunderkind AI

• Navigate to Campaigns > Text Messaging > On-Demand Texts

• Click + New Campaign to open the Campaign Builder modal.

• Campaign Setup: Enter a Campaign Name and click Next.

• Segment: Select the segment you want to use from the dropdown and click Next.

  • The dropdown will only contain Active segments.

• Content: When you make it to the content step, you will see the option to fill in your copy manually, or with the help of AI. 

  • To use Wunderkind AI, toggle the Generate copy with Wunderkind AI switch to ‘on’

  • Input the URL link for the landing page you want your message to direct to

  • Select your Link Type

    • Choose Item if you are linking to a specific product

    • Choose Page if you are linking to a broader product or category page

  • Select your Response Language as English or French

  • Enter an AI Prompt, which indicates what topic the message should be about

    • i.e., 20% off, limited time offer, new release, etc.

  • Click AI Generate and review the copy.

    • If you are not satisfied with the response, click AI Generate again, or
      make edits to the body copy until you reach a message you are happy with

  • OPTIONAL: Click Enable MMS to upload a picture, GIF, video message, or Contact Card. 

• Tracking Information: Add any Tracking Information, if applicable, and click Next.

  • The Campaign UTM is intentionally left blank. Name is something simple.
    If you leave it blank it will be (not set) in Google Analytics.

  • The Medium, Source, and Term UTMs have default values filled in.

• Scheduling: Choose Now, Send time, Smart send, or Recurring send from the Send Details dropdown.

• Summary: Here you will see a summary of your campaign. Once you review, you can finalize the campaign or Save As Draft. 

  • Selecting Finalize means that your campaign will be saved as-is. 

  • Selecting Save As Draft allows you to pick up from where you left off later on

Best Practices for AI Prompting

• Start with an instruction to write in your brand’s voice. This helps differentiate the message from other AI-generated copy. 

  • You can follow up with recommendations or edits if the voice is slightly off. 

  • Example: “Compose a text announcing the release of [brand name]’s new purple, zebra-striped shorts.”
     

• Clearly state the offer, discount, or primary value prop of the message, as well as the purpose: to educate the recipient on a new product? To announce a collaboration? To showcase trending products?
   

• Clearly state limitations (like character counts and Brand Name requirements). 

  • If you don’t state limitations but write a detailed prompt, Wunderkind AI could write a text longer than 137 characters that will be sent as 2 texts (our AI will tell you if the initial output has to be sent as 2 texts. You can always trim down the first draft). 

  • Instead of “Keep the text within 137 characters”, say “Keep the text to 137 characters or less.”
     

• Use clear, concise language. Do not surpass ~2-3k characters to avoid hitting length limitations.
   

• Include desired tone if desired  (cheeky, urgent, conversational, casual, etc.). 

  • If you use a generic prompt like “Announce a 50% off sale on red sandals” you will get a generic prompt back. 

  • If you say “Announce our biggest sale of the year: 50% off on red sandals. Keep it casual and use alliteration when referencing the product on sale.” you’ll get an option that you can tweak and mold into the final product.
     

• Clarifications are important, especially for performance. Ask Wunderkind AI to keep the financial incentive toward the beginning of the text.
