What are abandonment emails?
Abandonment emails are behaviorally triggered modules that re-engage your highest intent users if they leave the site. These series include cart, product, and category abandonment.
Who is eligible for abandonment sends?
For a user to receive an abandonment email, the following criteria must be met:
- User abandoned from a category or product page, or with items in cart
- Wunderkind has identified that user down to an email address
- Wunderkind has confirmed the email address is marketable
- User does not hit a frequency cap or taken action to stop send (see below)
How do they start, and how long do they last?
Triggers
+30 minutes after a user abandons the site after having:
-
Viewed a category page (Category Abandonment)
-
Viewed a product page (Product Abandonment)
-
Added item to cart (Cart Abandonment)
Cadence
-
Prospects: Four emails, once every 24 hours
- Customers: Three emails, once every 24 hours
When do they stop?
The series will naturally expire one of three ways:
- User converts onsite
- User unsubscribes
- User clicks through an email, browses the site, and demonstrates higher intent behavior. This takes the user out of their current series and puts them into the next highest intent series.
- From lowest to highest intent: Category > Product > Cart Abandonment
- From lowest to highest intent: Category > Product > Cart Abandonment
Frequency Caps
- We will not send more than 2 series per week or more than 4 series per month.
- We will not send the same series more than once per week or more than twice per month.
*“Week"/"month" refers to a 7 or 30 day period, not calendar weeks/months.
