Accessing Text Messaging Settings
To open the new Text Messaging Settings page:
- Log in to the Wunderkind Platform.
- In the left navigation, click Settings.
- Select Text Messaging.
When the page loads, you'll see 5 menu items in the sidebar under Text Messaging and 3 tabs along the top of the Text Settings page.
Sidebar menu:
- Text Settings — Configure your SMS brand, routing, compliance, and subscriber experience.
- Text To Join — Manage keyword-triggered reply sequences for opt-in flows.
- Double Opt-In — Manage the confirmation messages subscribers see during double opt-in.
- Promotional Replies — Manage keyword-triggered auto-responses for promo codes, offers, and branded content.
- Legal Replies — Configure auto-responses for compliance keywords like HELP and STOP.
Tabs within Text Settings:
- SMS — SMS configuration, including brand name, short code/long code, SMS country, and SMS provider.
- Opt-In — Opt-in related configurations.
- Legal Links and Language — Language configuration and links to legal pages used in your text program.
Note on list pages: Text To Join, Double Opt-In, Promotional Replies, and Legal Replies all use the same layout. Each page lists keyword-triggered reply sequences for your selected website, showing the keyword, trigger phrases, status, country, and language per row.
Lists display 20 items per page — use the Previous and Next controls at the bottom to navigate if you have multiple sequences configured. Click any row to open its editor.
Text Settings
SMS
- In the Brand name field, enter the name your customers recognize.
- In the Privacy Policy link field, enter your full privacy policy URL (e.g., https://example.com/privacy).
- From the SMS country dropdown, select your country.
- From the SMS provider dropdown, select your provider.
Note: How you configure your short or long code depends on your SMS provider:
- OpenMarket or Infobip — Enter your short code (5–6 digits) or long code (10–14 digits) directly. If you're using a long code, a Terms & Conditions link is required.
- ESP or Klaviyo — The code field is disabled. Your code is managed by your ESP. Contact your Wunderkind team if you need assistance before saving. Klaviyo is US-only.
Use the Short / Long toggle to specify your code type, then click Save
Opt-In
In the Opt-in message text box, review or edit the message content.
⚠️ Compliance requirement: Your opt-in message must include the required compliance phrases — your brand name and a statement that subscribers are signing up for automated, recurring marketing and support texts. You can use any remaining characters to add a sign-up value, such as a discount offer. If you plan to edit this message, work with the Wunderkind team first to ensure compliance requirements are met before saving.
When you're finished, click Save in the top-right corner to apply your changes.
The Opt-out link is auto-generated and read-only. Click Copy to save it to your clipboard.
Legal links and language
In the Terms & Conditions link field, enter your terms of service URL (e.g., https://example.com/terms).
Note: This field is required if you are using long codes.
In the Legal language field, write the plain-text disclosure subscribers will see when signing up. Include message frequency, "message and data rates may apply," and opt-out instructions (e.g., "Reply STOP to unsubscribe").
When you're done, click Save.
Text To Join
Text To Join lets subscribers join your text program by texting a keyword to your short code.
From the sidebar, go to Settings > Text Messaging > Text To Join. Find the entry in the list and click it to open the editor.
A few things to know before editing:
- The carrier-required phrase join cannot be removed from the Initial Reply trigger phrases, but you can add more.
- Messages over 160 characters send as 2 SMS segments. Adding an image, GIF, or video converts the message to MMS.

⚠️ Compliance notice: Messages must include your brand name, opt-out instructions, and must not imply consent is required to purchase.
When finished, click Save changes.

From the sidebar, go to Settings > Text Messaging > Double Opt-In. Find the entry in the list and click it to open the editor.
A few things to know before editing:

- Adding an image, GIF, or video converts the message from SMS to MMS.

When finished, click Save changes.
