Set Conversion Events
For each Signals Canvas, in Canvas Basics, add any desired conversion events according to your brand's standards. For example, if you typically track orders placed within 1 day of the Canvas duration as your primary conversion event, you would set the below:
- It is not required to select conversion events. If this is skipped, Braze will default the time to three days.
- If do you intend to rely on conversion events, ensure they are defined at this step. To complete final QA, Wunderkind will launch Canvases to a status of Active, after which these events cannot be changed.
Define Your Audience
Target Audience Settings
For each Signals Canvas, review Wunderkind's default Target Audience settings and adjust as needed.
Purchase History Filtering
- To prevent users from continuing to receive Canvas messages after they make a purchase, add the Exit Criteria Make Purchase.
- To prevent users from receiving a Canvas if they've recently purchased, adjust the Entry Audience to use the Last Made Purchase filter.
Cross-Campaign Priority for Abandonment
- Certain Signals Canvases are pre-configured with Custom Attribute Exit Criteria to ensure users always receive the highest-intent message possible. These criterion should exist on Product and Category Abandonment flows only. Cart Abandonment, as the highest priority, should not be suppressed.
- At the beginning of every abandonment Canvas, the Custom Attribute respective to that Canvas is set for the user. At the end of every abandonment Canvas, the Custom Attribute is removed, allowing the user to re-enter any Signals Canvas at a later point in time.
- If you choose to add additional Exit Criteria to any of your Signals Canvases, some users may exit without having their Custom Attribute cleared. To address this, Wunderkind has created a Wunderkind Email Status Reset Canvas. This Canvas removes Custom Attributes for users who have not been active in a Signals Canvas for two days, ensuring users can always become re-eligible.
Send Settings
- Subscription Settings: For each Signals Canvas, ensure consent filters meet your brand’s needs.
- Frequency Capping: Wunderkind's default settings preserve user experience while still maximizing send volume. For details and recommendations on additional frequency capping, see here.
Add Your Email Creatives
If you are not using Wunderkind's design services and composed your own email templates, for each message step within your Signals Canvases, be sure to set your Sending info and Email body.
Setting Up Non-Wunderkind Messages
- If you plan to test Signals against other vendors, we ask that you wait to apply cross-vendor suppression logic to Signals Canvases until Wunderkind completes final testing. This will help us to test efficiently and catch any issues specific to Wunderkind settings. Wunderkind will complete final testing once you have built out your Canvas messages following the steps in the next section.
- For Canvases or Campaigns being tested against Wunderkind, please include the vendor name in either the name or tag. For example, if running a cart abandonment Canvas with Shopify, include the term “shopify” in the Canvas name or tag.
- You may have noticed that Wunderkind’s Link Template sets the bxid parameter to the user’s Braze ID for identity continuity. To maximize identification and campaign reach, we recommend setting bxid to
{{${braze_id}}}on all non-Wunderkind marketing emails as well.
