Change Offer Across Layouts Using Smart Fields

Smart Fields are our dynamic variable system in Studio. 

Edit Smart Fields

You most likely already have Smart Fields set up. To check, go to Brand Kit > Smart Fields. Here, you want to look under Text variables to see what Smart Fields are available.

To change the value of an existing Smart Field:

1. Click on the [...] to the right to edit.
2. Type in a new value into the input field
3. Click OK > Save to make the change.
4. Not only will this change the value displayed when you preview layouts in studio, it automatically changes the value displayed in the live email that is sent.

Schedule Smart Field Value Overrides During A Particular Timeframe:

1. Click on the [...] of any Smart Field to edit.
2. Toggle On Scheduled Value Overrides in the 'Edit Text Variable' modal
3. Assign a new value
4. Pick your date and time for when you'd like the new value to start and end
5. Click OK > Save.

Create a New Smart Field

1. Click on + Add a New Text Variable
2. In the modal, give your smart field a Name
3. Add a variable value
4. In Type, select 'Text Variable'
5. Click OK to create.
6. Don't forget to save before you exit!

Using Smart Fields in Layouts:

1. Click into the Text component within any Layout
2. Type the Smart Field name starting with dollar sign ($)
3. You'll see the change reflected in the rendered Preview, which will display the assigned value for the Smart Field.
4. Smart Fields will also work within Subject Line & Preview Text copy.
